Tall Ships Dublin 2012

The tall ships race finished in Dublin in August 2012. After a very successful 4 days in port they departed on the 26th. August for Liverpool. 

The following photos show some of the 40 ships taking part arriving and their departure in the parade of sail. More info here

From Mexico, the Cuauhtemoc, makes a great sight, as she sails out into Dublin Bay.

LE Niamh, leaves Dublin Port, morning 22-8-12 to escort the fleet into the port
From Ecuador, the Guayas, class A Tall Ship, sails with band playing, into Dublin Bay, 26-8-12.

Danmark class A.
From Italy, the Class A Tall Ship Americo Vespucci arrives, 23-8-12
The Americo Vespucci on her last evening in Dublin. She was to sail at 8pm but did some time later. There was a good crowd to see her off.
Lots of wood, with a man with a beard.
   
   
Plenty of crew required for this, though I have seen it done with two men and a dog.
