The two trawlers in the photo (1953) with the Irish Willow astern were named "Loch Lee" and "Loch Lorgan" there was also a third one called the "Loch Lien" they were built in Germany just after ww 2,they would have been scrapped in the early 1960s. They had MWM direct sea water cooled engines and were reengineered with Lister Blackstone fresh water cooled 1500 hp engines. Mick Mills |
"The Loch Lein was sold to skipper Walter "Fly" Homes and the trawler was based in Fleetwood. My Father was part of the crew who sailed her to New-Zealand in 1965.
